Moving towards the goal!
Jul. 5th, 2004 10:13 pmWell, I'm slowly but steadily moving towards the big goal: riding in a show August 14-15!
Tiki and I will be doing the "Green as Grass" test and possibly Training Level I. Tiki could go higher, but I can't! To that end, we've been working on 20m circles, riding down the diagonal, and simple changes of rein, etc. Tiki's really good--he's obviously done this at some time before. He'll anticipate the turns on the diagonal, and tries so hard to make good circles with my somewhat inept signals!
By the by, whoever knew it was so hard to make a perfect circle? Or a perfect straight line, for that matter???
I bought myself a showshirt today, and a pair of gloves as someone stole my good leather ones (bought especially with showing in mind) when we were showing the house in '02. Hall Saddlery is seeing about a coat for me and is ordering me breeches.
I've dreamed of showing all my life; I want to do this so bad.
