There aren't words to express the kind of emotions I've gone through since the vet told me I should put Tiki down. After talking to other, very experienced horse owners (Bonnie & Gary the barn owners for one), and from my own observation, I've decided to postpone that option indefinitely.

For example, the very night after the vet pronounced his doom, Tiki sneaked out of his stall while I was getting a scoop of grain to put his bute (horse aspirin) in. He ran out of the barn and through the indoor ring to the pasture, where he broke the hotwire and ran madly around in the twilight. Part of me was thinking, "Ohmigod, he'll hurt himself worse!" but the other part was thinking, "And this is the horse in such pain he should be put down..."

I have him on glucosamine/chondroitin, MSM, and yucca now. He seems a little bit better, but still off. However, it's only been a month. I bought him Cosequin, which is supposed to be the best joint supplement out there. It's also one of the most expensive, too. *eyeroll* We'll just have to wait and see. Tincture of time...

THANK YOU ALL for the good thoughts, prayers, and vibes. Please keep them coming!
