Hey! A non-crazy post!

Just a quick update.

I've been superbusy lately. I've had to take over all mom's care since Jo flatly said she won't do it any more, and that leaves me with little free time. I keep having long lists of "things to do"--it's getting so even riding Tiki is one more thing to do, something more to be crowded in when I get a chance. :( :(

He's doing quite well, by the way. I have him on Hylamotion (a hyaluronic acid supplement) and an herbal anti-inflammatory as well as his usual Cosequin. The hyaluronic acid made a huge difference. It made him much less stiff and improved his movement incredibly. Now if he'll just stay all right...*crosses fingers*

I talked to Gary and Bonnie (barn owners) about getting some poles and building some jumps. Right now I'd only do ground poles with Tiki, but they're great for building up stifles. Besides, I need to get back into jumping slowly myself. Slowly is fine--less chance of either of us getting injured.

I'm also roundpenning Tiki again. He's been getting pushy on the ground again because the mares are in season, and I will not have a pushy horse. He doesn't like it--he's a bit herdbound--well, the answer to that is more roundpenning! He's such an alpha horse! He was gelded late, and I bet he covered some mares--he's so studdy. The mares in the herd adore him, even though he can't do a blessed thing.

Summer reading program registration started at work today, which means we're heading into our busiest time. I foolishly volunteered to do a program next week on heraldry, with the kids making their own shield/coat-of-arms. Anyone know anything about that? I have a few websites, but I'm open to all suggestions.

Man, I'm soooo tired...
