If the Republicans are against big government, why do they want the Feds to bail Wall Street out of the financial crisis? I mean, in a truly free market economy, shouldn't we admit defeat and let the economy fix itself? Why did they instantly demand that the Feds had to DO SOMETHING
about the banking collapse (which is getting worse, btw, with the failure yesterday of WaMu and now, today with Wachovia talking merger)?*

I ask you, Mr. Bush, why are you so willing to practice Big Government with our economy, which supposedly is against all you and your party stand for? Could it be that you don't want to see a lot of your ultra-rich cronies lose their pants? Pumping astronomical amounts of money into the economy is socialism at its purest--yet, you refuse even to consider universal health care. You insist on fighting a losing war even though it's caused your popularity to drop and a large percentage of your constituents to say, "We think we should get out of Iraq!" According to statistics in the documentary film, "Hollywood Librarian: A Look at Librarians through Film", $250,000,000 is being spent PER DAY in this war--now, if you were pumping that into things at home, don't you think perhaps our economy might be a bit more stable? If, perhaps, we'd plugged that into the whole housing mess (which anyone with half an eye could see coming MILES off), we could have avoided this whole collapse.

Because, Mr. Bush, at the end of the day, you say you're for the little man in his little home with his family. And that's exactly who's getting crushed in this breakdown. The little man (or woman, I say). But I don't think you really care, Mr. Bush. I think you PISS on the "American family" as you call them. You care more about being in bed with the Saudis and giving breaks to the big oil companies and cutting clean air standards and not signing the Kyoto treaty and getting favors from Big Business. And I think that what happened in the last couple of weeks proves it.

*I know about the safeguards built into the system after the Great Depression. I'm talking for the sake of argument here.
