meezergalENORMOUS THANKS to everyone who sent me their sympathy and prayers after dad's death... I really appreciate it. It's been really exhausting just getting the minimum of stuff done lately; I remember how it was after mom died. I can't tell you how much I appreciated the concern all of you expressed to me. *HUGS*
Dad went very peacefully, at home, and that's what matters. Both my parents did, and that's so much better than dying in a hospital or a hospice. No matter what, it's never like being at home with your family. I only hope that's how I go when it's my time.
The funeral went OK, except my brother's wife was rude to two of my oldest and dearest friends. However, I know not to expect better of her. Consider the source, as my mother used to say. She acted like she was in charge of the whole thing anyhow. Gah! Hopefully, I won't have to see too much of her any more.
Life's been unsettled and the weather's been awful except for a few days last week, so I've only been able to squeeze out a couple of barn trips. My horses are my therapists in many ways! I'm still tired from all the mental stress, but I hope that starts to pass soon. Ugh!
