Because I rode during a tornado warning today! We were indoors, of course, and people were watching to warn us if we needed to take cover, but STILL! :D
I certainly rode a horse worthy of a Valkyrie! Frankie is 17.2 hh. That means he's SIX FEET TALL AT THE WITHERS (shoulders for non-horsie people)! He's a sweetie, though--a classic Big Dumb Warmblood. He's pretty young--6 or 7 years old, with a cute personality--"Hi! Do you have snacks? What are we going to do? Oh, we're going to ride. And jump. Oh! I like to jump! Jumping is fun! Can we jump some more? That cat is interesting. Can I look at that cat? Oh, I have to jump now? Oh, OK." His jump is even smoother than Lexie's (well, when you're that tall, you make the jumps look REALLY dinky), and his gaits are so springy, I DID feel like a Valkyrie swooping down to pick up the fallen warriors! *snicker*
One major point in his favor: I rode him in a thunderstorm, with tornado sirens going off, and he was all business. "Oh, we're jumping? Good! I like to jump! Jumping is fun! Can we jump some more? What jump do you want me to jump now?"
I like that in a horse. *grin*
