Because I rode during a tornado warning today! We were indoors, of course, and people were watching to warn us if we needed to take cover, but STILL! :D

I certainly rode a horse worthy of a Valkyrie! Frankie is 17.2 hh. That means he's SIX FEET TALL AT THE WITHERS (shoulders for non-horsie people)! He's a sweetie, though--a classic Big Dumb Warmblood. He's pretty young--6 or 7 years old, with a cute personality--"Hi! Do you have snacks? What are we going to do? Oh, we're going to ride. And jump. Oh! I like to jump! Jumping is fun! Can we jump some more? That cat is interesting. Can I look at that cat? Oh, I have to jump now? Oh, OK." His jump is even smoother than Lexie's (well, when you're that tall, you make the jumps look REALLY dinky), and his gaits are so springy, I DID feel like a Valkyrie swooping down to pick up the fallen warriors! *snicker*

One major point in his favor: I rode him in a thunderstorm, with tornado sirens going off, and he was all business. "Oh, we're jumping? Good! I like to jump! Jumping is fun! Can we jump some more? What jump do you want me to jump now?"

I like that in a horse. *grin*

Haha, I like his monologue there XD. I was thinking about you when I got off work today at three and heard about the possible tornado just South of Milwaukee!

Hehehe--if Frankie could talk, he'd talk that way! :D As far as the weather, it barely rained at all near my house (West Allis) though it POURED at the barn, which is 15 minutes away in a literal straight line. Go figure!

(And for the record, I hope I never ride during another tornado warning! Jumping's exciting enough!)

Reminds me of my first horse. He was over 18 hands. Loved to jump, didn't phase on anything really. They are truely gentle giants. He was a Hannoverian.

Frankie is a Holsteiner, I think. He's been SUCH a sweetie the two times I've ridden him! So gentle for his huge size!

OK, we'll get you two big huge horses! Shires are huge--but "Belgium" is the country, "Belgians" are the horses! LOL! And EVERYONE needs at least two horses!
