Busy, busy, busy!!
Mar. 28th, 2007 02:09 pmWow, I haven't updated in a long time! I've been super-busy! No, no job yet. :( :( However, a lot of things have happened:
The house is off the market. My father's settlement didn't come through, as I last posted; he was really depressed about that, combined with my mom dying in November, he was extremely down. Then, my sister found our so-called "brother" is the one who pushed the realtor to sell the house so quickly--he wanted me out of the house before the settlement came through. Yes, this is my brother, my blood relation. He wanted me out of the house in thirty days, out on the street, with no job and three cats and hardly any money. I don't know what goes through his head! It would literally have killed my father if I had been put out, my sister says, dad was so depressed (not to mention me). When dad heard about the offer on the house, he hit the ceiling and said, "NO, NO, NO! Kim is to get that house--that is what mom wanted and that's what I want!" so the offer was refused and withdrawn. The house is going to be made over to me and I'll settle with my brother and sister after dad's death.
More good news!!! My sister and I are bringing dad home!!! That has really cheered him up! He can't wait to get home! We've spent the last few weeks tearing up carpet, painting, finding new (used) furniture, and in general furbishing up the place so it won't remind him too much of mom and possibly make him feel badly about her. He may be back as soon as two weeks from now!
I can't tell you how happy I am knowing that I don't have to worry about being turned out of my house. It's a huge relief. I still am not getting any nibbles about a job, even though I send out those resumes faithfully. My ego's getting banged up! Send me a few job vibes and prayers!
