meezergalDisastrous event avoided!
Neither Vicki (my boss) nor I had sent back the contract for David Drake, the singer/storyteller for tonight's children's Christmas program. We discovered this little oversight about 2.30 this afternoon...and the program is at 7 tonight!
I had, however, called him last week to remind him of the program. So did Vicki, and neither of us heard from him saying, "What?? I'm THERE on the 9th??" so we thought things were cool.
Then Vicki looked at his website, and couldn't find us on his calendar. More spazzing on both our parts. I was on the point of tears for not sending in the damn$^%^@$* contract long ago. Vicki looked some more, and FOUND US on DD's *other* calendar.
I just sank down into my chair like a crayon in the sun when she found it--I had to go and look for myself, just to make sure! I'm literally lightheaded with relief.
THANK GOD. (Though Vicki forgot to give Laurie a copy of the contract for Finances, so the poor man will have to wait to be paid, as no check was cut.)
